Kukki?s F16 pit Project
« on: July 18, 2006, 09:13:14 AM »
Hello fellow pit builder!
Im new around here, Callsign Kukki and come from Denmark, but as all of you I love the F16, and started the pit project after i bought Ricochet?s pit. (have done a littel desktop pit for some years, but this is for real now)
I have tryed to build the pit on my own, but it was rather difficult, cause im in a wheelchair due to an paregliding accident for 7 years ago.
Curently im member of the 87th straydogs, and have been that for more than 4 years.
You can see my pit progress on www.f16sim.dk
where you can see more pic?s than in here.
Right now im rebuilding the pit so im able to jump over in the ACESII seat.
Ill aim for all the electronic stuff and make those work with a little help from you guys here. Ill buy all the EPIC cards to control all the buttons.

I have ? of Kabars panels right now, and have made an deal with him to send what im missing, and then ill start to collecting what im missing of buttons ect.

The seat rails is done so now I can jump in the pit, and then ill start on the throtle and stick work, and the icp, mfd?s, GPD and the AOA and NWS lights to work, (All RS HW)

I have a real F16 throtlearm, and im in progress in making the connection to the hall sensor.

In the stick i have the RS R2, and i have one in spare for sale (NEW)
With the pit i got a pair of RS rudderpedals brand new and those is for sale too.

Prices is on the website, but im a guy you can always talk with  :D

Im open for all kinds of sugestions and questions, and my knowhow and small enventions ill be glad to share to all in here.

Best regards Kurt "Kukki" Andersen

NB. sorry for my bad english  :?

Kukki,
That pit deserved a great home and look like you had one already waiting :D. So you got the Aces sliding back on rails? Nice idea.

See you in the chow hall;)

Hello gents!
Here is some new pic?s

Here you can see me in my pit for the first time, and the rails for the ACESII
works fine, but ill put some proff rails on it soon.

The connector from the real TQS. Ill connect all the wires from the throtle
handel to this connector, that way i can always remove the tqs handle.

A littel mess on the table  :D

The TQS plate.

The connector from the TQS, i cut that of and mounted a 26 pin seriel
cable instead, I got a whole box og those  :D

My new investment

Here you can see how i overcome the real throtlearm to connect to an HALL sencor.

Here you can see what i used for it.......cost about 5-10 US $ and is made in 10 minuts.
That way you have all in one unit to put into the fuselage side

Thats all for today.....injoy and ill be back with more updates
Best regards Kukki

That is pretty damn clever.  Where'd you source those parts from because that's so simple, I can't think of a reason not to use it.

Also, if you want, I can source that connector for the end of the throttle if you like, just pm me and we can cut a deal.

Hi Kukki, damn, I have been so busy I missed your last few post! Great pictures, Great Pit Room!! and an awsome simple solution for the throt to hall sensor. I'll be using that idea.

Also, good to see you have installed the rails for entry without any cosmetic distrubances to the pit area, just a great setup you have and glad you got your hands on it!!!

I'm using that idea as well Mike.  It the best solution I've seen to date.  perfect rotation, no stress on the Hall sensor axis...perfect.

Hello kukki,

Did you tried to calibrate it yet?
It might be my setup but the HS kit seems to have problems as soon as we use more than 90? of rotation.
From cubpilot, i learned that we need to use 45? each side of the neutral position (which is the flat spot on the HS)
initially I tried using 120? angle and ran into calibration problem. those were solved by decreasing the effective angle to 90?.

Just a heads up in case you (like me) did not check it and calibrate before closing up the cockpit  :D

Have a bandit day
Red Dog

Hey again Red Dog!
Damn your right.
Now ill have to search the internet for 120 or 180  degree Hall sensors,
If no go ill find some very quality potientometers for the usage instead of hall sensor.
If any of you know where to find Hall Sensors please PM me.

Kukki.
